THE jokes have done the rounds, the wikipedia entries scoured and now there’s nothing else to do other than watch us actually play Metalist Kharkiv tonight.
Along with other ECHO blues I’ve got to admit a sense of trepidation based on the unknown quantity of tonight’s opponents.
As Milo put it on the best written Everton site on the net (WSAG) ‘You just know that Kharkiv are going to be dead good, don't you? You just know it.’
We can only hope that the tactical naivety of our last Euro campaign (chasing the games against Dynamo) and well, having to play against 12 men in Villareal, has been studied by Moyes.
Despite the nerves I’m excited about seeing us back on a European stage. A decent run in the Uefa cup will define our season.
It’s this, along with staying competitive in the league, which are my priorities.
I’m past caring about the domestic cups for the time being. Too many cringeworthy moments to mention of late.
Instead think back to how happy we were to be in Uefa after the Portsmouth game and realise that tonight is whre our European tour finally begins.

While you’re trying to choose between your Chang or Bovril later, in acknowledgement of the autumnal snap, spare a thought for another Evertonian dad who will be at the game without his son.
Bluenose Gary Dunne, from West Derby, was stabbed with a machete in an unprovoked attack in February last year.
The gentle builder, who had recently got engaged, was labouring on a site in the Costa Del Sol and raising money to support his unborn son when it happened.
Gary had to be buried in the Costa Del Sol because the courts were too slow releasing his body.
His dad Ste will be at the game tonight, no doubt in his Everton shirt with his son's name printed on the back and the age he was when he died, 22.
Ste and his lovely wife Lee are trying to raise enough money to have Gary cremated and his ashes finally brought home to Liverpool.
Meanwhile they are still waiting for the Spanish courts to deal with the thug accused of stabbing him while struggling to pay the £10,000 legal costs.
If you want to help donate money please pledge your cash by visiting any HSBC bank and quote ‘Gary Dunne appeal’.
