CONTRACT

Posted by Greg O'Keeffe on May 27, 2008 2:28 PM |

I’M guessing this is the lull before the storm transfer-wise.
Even my national counterparts appear to have run out of African midfielders and Spanish wingers to erroneously link us with.

So the other Royal Blue elephant in the increasingly elephant-filled room is David Moyes' crisp, allegedly generous and absolutely unsigned new contract.
We know that he ‘has agreed in principle to sign’ and is now expected to sign it before the season starts but what’s wrong with...well...now?
I don’t get why Davie doesn’t do the deed post haste and then move on with bringing in his latest crop of recruits.
Unless he’s playing a clever game which is basically - 'Show me the money first please Bill'.
That’s a game where the boss waits to see if the promises he has been made are translated into cold, hard cash before he commits.
In which case we will have to wait along with Moyes himself and wait to see whether the board are willing and/or able to kickstart the Scot’s second revolution - or The Moyes Five -Year Plan Mk 2.
