MISERY STILL LOVES COMPANY

Posted by Greg O'Keeffe on August 14, 2008 11:45 AM |

THE MESSAGE boards are throbbing with discontent, Moyes is keeping his mouth shut as he scours the market, and our chairman's protestations seem hollower by the day.
It remains worrying and gloomy times for blues at the moment.

And while the doom and gloom merchants attract criticism from the cup-half-full types - they have a point.
We've all tried to pick a team and bench for Saturday, and whatever combo you come up with - it ain't good.
Everton remains only a serious injury to a first team player away from a full-blown crisis. But, I suppose we can moan about it ad infinitum - or try and stay focussed on smaller obstacles - i.e. Blackburn.
Rovers are beatable - even by the side which will trot out on Saturday. So, three points come 5pm on Saturday will be the best tonic we can hope for.
It will also buy us crucial time for the club to strengthen until August 31 looms.
If we haven't recruited in quaility and quantity by then, the September 3 EGM will be potentially explosive (and it's going to be a heated one anyway).

Greg,

It’s definitely more than a little scary, my head is throbbing with the worries of mid table mediocrity.

The usual pre-season punditry of the former glorious footballers with guesses of where teams will end up when the premiership shakes down in May '09 tends to have us (Everton) placed at or below 10th.

As of yet I’ve not seen the young guns perform, and although I’m more than a little worried at the lack of signings it may well be the likes Baxter, Gosling and co who will be filling in the holes left by miss-managed transfer dealings.

Moyes has faith, he’ll need it because only the best will do, and our threadbare squad I have no doubt will give it their best. Good luck for the weekend lads, as ever I’ll be there, but for this season with everything crossed.

what a let down on saturday, still, when you've got no strength in depth, we should have expected it.

what was lescott palyin at the for the first goal? hand up appealing offside when he's yards behind santa cruz. and jagielka looked lost in centre mid.

You wanna support a proper team Gregory, cheer yer self up a bit. Get down t knowsley rd or GPW recruitment stadium as it is now known. Top of league, off t wembley next week and Grand final to lookward to, now how can you be miserable about that?

True Benjamin Saints are flying. You know I've got a soft spot for the wools. Glad Anderson's last season is going out in style. I might just slyly change this blog to one about Saints so I can write about a team tw*tting the opposition every week. Your stadium is still a worse dump than ours though.

Oi Gokey,

Llunberg coming? Would be the begining of the end that. No pace, no nothing. Just interested in his Topman posing deals.
Yeah, he was great for the Arse, but he's not even done it for the Hammers. It tires me seeing him huff and puff. Give it up Freddo lad, give it up. There's a big, slightly camp, Topman dufflecoat waiting for you.
You can look, indie, goth, trendy and a bit camp all at the same time.
