NO NEWS OF RECRUITS FOR EVERTON F.C., ANTON PETERLIN ASIDE

By Greg O Keeffe on Jul 6, 09 10:30 AM
RIGHT. You don't need to bother with Newsnow.co.uk for this week or any other time consuming black hole aggregator sites.

I'll sum up our transfer news below.

 .........

 Yes, when even the Sunday tabloids run out of any credible links (Paul Scholes at 34!!) you know that either;

A) Everton are getting much better at the cloak and dagger wheeling and dealing

or

 B) There's been no wheeling or dealing.

 Oh, and 16-year-old Luke Garbutt has joined the academy after telling the world he was leaving Leeds on his Facebook. File under Scott Spencer. I'm mildly intrigued by Anton Peterlin though (The White Castillo?). Ventura%20-%20Anton%20Peterlin.jpgNow, if Moyes rates him, he gets the instant benefit of the doubt but you do wonder how someone playing in the third tier of U.S. footy has somehow got himself a move to a top five Premier League club.

And if Philip Carter is bandying around sepia-tinged cliches like injured players coming back '"like new signings" then I suppose I'll call Peterlin, at least, 'another body' in a squad which is still tighter than Serena Williams' behind.

 It would be nice to have a few outlandish links to keep us guessing though.

 All very quiet on Moutinho and I'm past caring about M'Bia. On a separate note I spent a good hour enjoying the packed-to-the-rafters new Everton Two shop on Saturday.

 Like a big kid I bought some not at all needed training gear, despite still having loads of Umbro stuff from when it was flogged cut-price from JJB.

 Congratulations to the club for getting everything right with this aspect of their operation. It does seem like a no-brainer attracting half a city's worth of blues to a city centre shop but it's probably easier said than done.

 Finally they seem to have jumped into bed with the right operators in kitbag and it made me feel very proud on Saturday, seeing how rammed it was.

 Tourists will be left in no doubt that they're in a two-club city when they visit the centre of Liverpool from now on. I like most of the Le Coq Sportif stuff and the new home top is growing on me slowly.

 What do you think?

 The attractive shop assistants in their Everton kits was a welcome touch as well. Who's a perv? ...What?
